Loneliness is something we seldom discuss but which touches us all. One of the most shameful things imaginable is to appear lonely in the eyes of others. In social medias we are fed with happenings we are not a part of and at the same time we want to share pictures of a perfect life. It is in our very nature to be drawn to companionship but we also strive to be individualists. Alone equates to strong, but is alone really all that good?
Let's be Lonely Together is a campaign to break the shame around loneliness in social media and in society. The solution to the issue is to create a more unedited picture in our photo feeds and encourage people to be open with their feeling of loneliness, together.
This project is made by Patricia Miodek and is my degree piece at Beckmans College of Design in Visual Communication 2014.
